Conga Document Generation can be a bit glitchy. We use it in salesforce for our quotes. It honestly seems like a better tool for the enterprise. We are very transactional. Hundreds of sales per month which isn't the best for Conga because of the time it takes to build out each quote.
  • Calculates accurate quotes.
  • Customers can somewhat easily sign the agreements.
  • It integrates with Salesforce pretty well.
  • It could be much faster for SMB teams.
  • It would be nice if there was more customization for organizations that have SMB, enterprise, mid-market instead of having it all used the same.
  • Their support team could be a little stronger/quicker to help.
I think it's definitely better suited for enterprise teams that are doing bigger more complex deals. With SMB we need the signup process to be extremely quick and simple since we do so many sales per month. It is pretty easy to use, but just not that quick.

We use Conga in Salesforce to merge paperwork and also integrate DocuSign/Adobe Sign to the Conga button, so one button would create and send the paperwork.
  • Conga Support has always been very helpful.
  • Conga Community has plenty of articles for users to explore.
  • The merge function works very well for us.
  • The speed can probably go up a bit more.
  • Templates are always gone in the Sandbox thus we had to spend time creating new ones and then modify the buttons.
  • Same for queries.
Document merge and integration with Salesforce and E-Sign solutions have been great.

We are a consulting firm and partner with Conga and use all conga products like conga composer, conga contracts, conga sign, and conga batch. We implemented conga solutions for various clients. One of the companies uses composer to send the contracts generated by conga contracts using composer and conga sign. Also, to generate the royalty statement using conga composer with conga batch. We further used conga parameters to integrate to download the statements on the shared drive. Very helpful as conga provide integration with lot of different tools like docu sign, adobe sign, box, one drive etc.
  • To generate the contracts documents if you use conga contracts.
  • To generate any document like credit memo, royalty statements.
  • Conga batch converts the button URL to formulate, send, or download statements in bulk.
  • Could work very well with Docu sign and Adobe sign and one drive
  • Increase the batch size of conga batch from 200.
  • Make composer debug log more clear to make the issue resolve quickly.
  • Some composer parameters are not available to add directly from the solution builder.
We think Conga suite solutions are best to use if you want to generate multiple documents and send these documents to multiple users or contacts. Conga composer with Conga Sign and Conga batch makes work a lot easy and helps to save a lot of time. Document generation is now really easy and effective.

We use Conga Composer for a myriad of our services that we provide to clients. We use Conga Composer for documents to generate different information across different objects (departments) in Salesforce. We invested in this product due to the capabilities to further streamline our internal processes and client file engagement.
  • Combines information
  • Streamlines processes
  • User friendly for regular consumers
  • Tutorial videos on set up or creative work flows
I have not used the program frequently, mostly due to the program not being entirely user-friendly for regular consumers/users.

Conga Composer allows us to generate documents at the press of a button. It's a great tool which allows users to generate documents that pull information directly from Salesforce. We also use Conga Sign to which eliminates the use of paper documents and allows us to send documents which require a signature directly to a customer. We then get notifications and are able to report on what's been signed or not.
  • Easy document generation from Salesforce
  • Great support
  • The ability to report on transactions
  • The set up needs someone who is technically minded
  • Resolving error messages can sometimes need support
We are able to send documents directly to customers via email using Conga Sign, previously these documents were been printed and needed a wet signature. The document would then be uploaded manually. Using Conga Sign takes a lot of the effort out and also risk. It keeps an audit in Salesforce so we can see what has happened.

So, far we have used this integration with a new SF platform we are building and it is pretty good. We have to generate documents for customers. Such as invoices, proposals, savings details, etc. Conga is going to be our generation service to have these documents sent over to customers.
  • Free edit.
  • Populates quickly.
  • Flexibility with templates.
  • Carrying over complex template fields.
  • Not have to bypass the screen to choose PDF or another file type.
  • Mimic document text formats better.
I like the flexibility of it and how quickly it loads the documents. I also like that you can free edit on it, being in an office setting, our documents are ever-changing, and having the ability to edit text on a document right in our system and then export it is going to be a game changer and time-saving. We are still in the dev stages of our system so I have not fully got to experience Conga but I am sure it will be a great fit for us.

We use Conga to create documents, create agreements, create labels, capture signatures, and capture payment information. We also use Conga to generate inventory reports. I believe we have a very complex use scenario for Conga and happily, it meets all our needs.
  • Customer onboarding agreements.
  • Payment method capture.
  • Complex tables.
  • Set up difficulty.
  • Custom link difficulty
  • Query difficulty.
It's more suited if your processes are well established and you don't change a lot. Once you get a document up and going it's good to go but it can take a long time to get there. Be careful if you have multiple record types.

We use Conga Composer and Conga sign to send all of our business proposals as well as other documents such as engagement letters. This involves converting PowerPoint and Word files into a writeable document within Conga. From there we are able to use the template builder and merge tags to automate writing client information to the document. This document is sent to our client lists to request a signature or other confirmation. The signed document is then saved back to our Salesforce on the appropriate record. The entire process as I've described it is very simple and intuitive, even for a first time user.

For background, I am an Accidental Admin in Salesforce, which is to say I inherited this role after a personnel change so I have had to learn all of this on the fly. In addition to being easy to use, Conga provides great support and every problem that I have run into has been fixed quickly and I have been able to keep my users happy.
  • Automated document creation
  • Proposal sending
  • Document Signing (with Conga Sign)
  • So many features it is hard to know where to start
  • Sometimes difficult to use
I have found that Conga Composer is very well suited for automated document generation, sending and signing. I have not yet encountered an area where it does not work well, though this could be because our use cases are built around Conga Composer capabilities as we understand them or they were explained to us.

Conga Composer allows our small team to efficiently draft contracts based on our complicated CPQ model. Conga Composer has drastically reduced the amount of time spent on re-drafting our contract form to meet the custom use cases presented by product selection. Conga Composer has also reduced the number of errors that occur during this redrafting process.
  • Integrates seamlessly with CPQ.
  • Makes contract drafting less prone to human error.
  • Reduces time spent drafting contracts.
  • It can be a bit finicky if your contract outlines have more than 2 levels.
If your business is contracts, then this is for you. The initial time investment is well worth the time saved down the line.

We use Conga Composer regularly to support companies with specific essential needs as part of their CRM journeys.
It's regularly implemented as a key part of an initial organisation and then we offer ongoing support to enable end users to get the most out of the system.
The use cases are primarily around contracts or sales generation, however it's essential for any customer facing department engaging within the CRM tech stack.
  • Clearly defined templates
  • Quick Generation
  • Implementation and sync with e-signature provide
  • Clear sync field generation
  • Manipulation of existing templates
  • Confused/ unclear error messaging
  • Visibility over send documents
Every customer facing department within the CRM tech stack.
Primary focuses should be any regularly generated document which causes huge time saving benefits for generation and sending.
The primary use case is always sales and contract generation.
The less appropriate are documents with a large amount of legal focus as they require constant updating and ensuring that the correct version is always being sent out by end users.

We use Conga Composer across nearly all functional groups in three main ways: Email generation, as it provides more flexibility than Salesforce Report generation, as it allows us to format and combine data from various objects via queries Document generation, as it is more efficient and saves our end users time creating documents
  • Allow for highly customized logic by allowing you to pull data into Excel and then manipulate it from there
  • Singe-click experience for end-users that can be designed by admins
  • Highest level of flexibilty among all similar products
  • Reliability, in particular with their API offering which doesn't seem to be in development anymore
  • Cost, this has dramatically increased during the lifetime of our contract
  • Error reporting, it can be very challenging to find the source of issues within complex solutions
[Conga Composer is well suited for] email, document, and report generation. We are also considering migrating from DocuSign to CongaSign as the pricing model makes a lot more sense for our business model. I have tried their newer processes for template building and prefer the manual approach, but I would say you need a somewhat technical person if you want to create highly custom solutions.

We use Conga Composer to design and print applications, contracts, budget materials, proposals, and board review materials. Our Conga Composer implementation includes template[s] in Microsoft Word and Excel as well as custom Conga Email templates to supplement out of the box Salesforce template functionality. Finally, we also use Conga Batch and Conga Sign to further leverage Conga functionality.
  • Complex data queries
  • Flexible templates, automated or locally downloaded
  • Configurable parameters for special requirements
  • Support has deteriorated significantly since the product was acquired
  • Significant learning onramp
  • Some product features are not compatible with Salesforce Lightning
I am a big fan of Conga Composer and I find that it is well suited for organizations that require complex merges, with data from multiple custom or standard objects arranged in tables. I think my organization has only just scratched the surface of everything we can do with solution parameters - despite being a super user and a certified Conga Composer professional! There are so many options and so much usefulness, it will take time to really dive in and leverage everything that Conga has to offer. For organizations that need to merge simple donation acknowledgement letters, Conga is probably too complex. Apsona offers a competitive product for that use case.

We use both Composer and Sign to send out Permissions and documentation to our clients.
  • Quick to send out documentation.
  • Quick to debug.
  • Quick to create new templates and additional templates.
  • The Live Chat support team should be effective in helping deal with situations instead of opening a ticket on your behalf.
  • The log-a-case functionality of the Conga Community is too long and rigid.
  • Accessing the debug log from Conga is not very easy as it requires technical acumen to do that.
It's a very good product and does the job. Obviously, there's big room for improvement in terms of making the product more user-friendly so that someone who isn't technical can interact with and customize it.

We use Conga Composer to generate templated responses from Salesforce. The product allows us to store our data in SF and export it in a usable format for sharing with our clients (who are not SF users within our org). We use this tool for both sales and operations to share documents with our clients.
  • Simplifies data sharing
  • Relatively steep learning curve for setup
Conga works great for us as a way to create templates and have them populate with data stored within SF. We use it for booking agreements as well as client summaries. This helps us stay on the same page as our clients while also maintaining their pertinent data with SF.

Auto-generate letters based upon pre-defined templates using Salesforce cases.
  • Templates are easy to create.
  • Support documentation is great.
  • Easy for the end user to generate documents.
  • Troubleshooting problems.
If you have a letter with a specific template that needs to be generated, this software provides assistance in that process. There was a lot of flexibility in the system to generate multiple types of Microsoft Office documents. It can also produce pdf documents as an alternative. I believe emails are possible, but we are not using that functionality.

We use Conga to generate PDFs of insertions orders as well as to get clients and vendors to sign off on those orders. This helps us generate orders in a way that is user friendly (i.e. readable) as well as allows us to keep a paper trail of order versions via signatures.
  • Generates PDFs
  • Lots of customizability
  • Excellent record-keeping
  • PDF generation could be faster
  • Customizing templates could be more user-friendly

We used the Conga Doc Generation to help us within our sales organization for contract customization and creation. Before Conga, we were just using the generic Salesforce contract composer and our documents were very bland and not very appealing to the customer. After implementing Conga, we were able to customize our contracts dynamically and it was a lot better experience for our sales reps and our customers.
  • Dynamic Contract content creation
  • Customized look and feel for documents
  • Integration into E-sign was a huge plus.
  • Pricing was complicated and didn't scale.
Anyone that needs customization of their documents and the ability to do more than just the generic out of the box Salesforce capabilities will enjoy Conga [Document Generation]. The only problem is if there is a high document volume, the pricing didn't scale well for our organization. That was the only drawback.

At the company where I used [Conga] Composer, our implementation allowed us to generate forms based on any number of custom objects and fields. In financial services, these forms can be immensely complex and require information from every corner of a Salesforce org. However disappointed my team would get with other integrations that struggled with what felt like should be inherent functionality and uptime, Composer and the Conga team in general were always on point. In 3 years, we experienced a total of less than 30 minutes of downtime, and upgrades to the integration were seamless and well-documented. I stand by Conga as a company and Composer as a product. The best Salesforce integration I have ever used.
  • Field mapping
  • Document generation
  • Uptime
  • User interface
[Conga Composer is] well suited for small-to-medium sized companies looking for a clean and efficient way to automatically populate existing forms with Salesforce data. Immensely practical and straightforward. Configuration and updates are a breeze. Less appropriate for anyone looking to also obtain a digital signature on the generated document, as Conga has a separate platform for e-signature that is available for additional cost.

We use Conga Composer to generate order forms and other documents from Salesforce to streamline our sales process. Generally, it will pull applicable data straight from our opportunity object and generate a downloadable document that can be shared with prospects and customers either via email or sent via DocuSign. Primarily used by sales and customer success teams.
  • Pulls data directly from Salesforce
  • Generates documents quickly and easily.
  • Able to pull from a large pool of templates for applicable business processes.
  • Sometimes can time out with unresponsive pages (rare)
Conga Composer has a great integration with Salesforce. I would recommend using Conga Composer for most sales teams that are looking to easily generate signable order forms. Can promise a quick turn around on document creation via templates in a high-velocity sales environment. Great for getting documents to customers quickly.

Our team utilizes Conga Collaborate as a hub for all sales collateral and documents. We have it integrated with Salesforce.com Opportunity stages so that our Opportunity info populates in the templates in Conga. We also utilize the e-signature piece for contracts. We are able to see when someone views a document and when it's been signed.
  • Integrate with Salesforce
  • Open tracking
  • Building templated documents
  • It could have more intuitive design
  • Better visuals for tracking
  • Easier sorting of documents
Conga Collaborate works well being tied to Salesforce opportunity stages. We have different documents that are generated for each stage. It is easy to create and send out proposals, which saves our team a lot of time. Their support team is quick and helpful.

It's not as great for general sales presentations or slide decks.

We were intending to use this software to create composite documents in tandem with Salesforce. As it turns out we found an alternative solution to our needs utilizing some features that are already built info Salesforce. Conga was recommended to us by a technology partner and we signed up for a year's use. Unfortunately, we did not fully engage with the realization that we were not using this product until it was renewed for another year, at which point it was noticed in an accounting review and we began a conversation with Conga about correcting this and reversing the renewal. Conga agreed that they could see that we were not using the product and initially stuck to their contract terms that offer no refunds. After reaching out to their management we were able to get a partial refund that has removed most of our frustration with this error and left us feeling somewhat heard by Conga.
  • In this instance, this software was not a fit for our needs
  • This company initially refused to refund anything but reviewed this case and decided that they would refund partially
  • I am reassured that they are listening to their customers. You may have to take a stand to be heard, but in the end they listened
  • Listen to your customer
  • They could have done more but at this stage, we are satisfied that they did something.
I was initially very unimpressed with this company's approach to customer service. They did eventually listen and although they did not offer us a full refund the partial refund was appreciated
